Hey noodle what did you do today?
Well I woke up at 6:40ish when Ian called. I woke up and unlocked the basement door for him, and after brushing my teeth and grabbing my stuff (nearly forgot my sunglasses, but remembered!) I went with him in his crazy, rickety car. When we got to Cadiz we went inside the McDs and ordered breakfast. Ian ate at JoJo's so he wasn't hungry, but he got a sosag McGriddle and I got the same with a sosag biscuit and hash brown with some Conke.
From there we continued south...Past Nashville and its horrid traffic (and Ian's aggressive driving) and to a smol suburb called Spring Hill. We went inside and I met Ian's grandparents on his dad's side. His grandpa was still mobile...Exhausted from walking, perhaps, but still moving...His grandma was mostly bed bound the whole time.
Ian and I headed upstairs with his grandpa, and together we started cleaning out the attic. His grandpa was quickly growing tired and was slowing us down, so luckily he left to go back downstairs. After that Ian and I spent time clearing out some large, empty, disintegrating boxes and trying to stuff them with old stuff from the guest bedroom that was adjacent to the attic. Like grandma, Ian's grandparents also hoarded a bunch of useless nonsense...VHSs predating 2000, boxes from every item they've ever bought, dozens of suitcases that will never be used by them again...It was so bad we found 3 Christmas tree bases! Jeez!
At around 11ish we headed to Taco Bell and Ian got a 3 sof taco meal, his grandpa got a taco salad, and I got a steak quesadilla meal (tho they gave chicken) with a sof taco and some Buffalo flavored fries. While eating I got a phone call from another guy named Kyle from Aerotek, and he had a few questions for me. I answered them as best I could, and he had a job recommendation for me...It would only pay about $30K a year, but to get my foot in the door? Sure! Louisville? Of course! While chatting I tried to escape the noise of the restaurant, only to find that hurricane-force winds were striking the area and making conversation impossible. I eventually had to go back inside (Even hiding by the dumpsters didn't work!), and they said they'd send me the info online.
I headed back inside and after refilling my Baja Blast, I grabbed my food and we headed out. We went to WalGreen's, and Ian got me some deodorant (since I'd forgotten to put some on) and some bloo cough drops. His grandpa needed tape and he started chatting with one of the older gentlemen who worked there before heading back to the bathroom. That's when Ian swiped everything and ran to the front to pay for it, and he told the worker lady that the deodorant was for me because I forgot...Reeee!
We headed back to his house and it was largely more packing...Old VHSs, Records, Cassettes, and other old stuff. Everything was going pretty well until about 3:50ish, when I was trying to follow Ian with some boxes and I stepped on the stairs in a weird way. I stumbled and twisted my right ankle, and for the rest of the day it really hurt...I think I sprained!
I basically had to be pretty sedentary the rest of the day. I was able to pack and move stuff, but it was kinda painful to walk on. At around 6:30 Ian and I headed out. We said goodbye to his grandpa, and it was time to go! While there I got paid $30 for my time...Not a lot, but I was just happy to help!
We drove outside the city and headed to Fazoli's in Clarksville. While en route we chatted about a bunch of our memories, and I said I felt like I missed out for not getting involved in petty high school drama. He countered by saying we had fun, and that the drama would have detracted from the fun. Good point! He also mentioned old classmates, and said that one of the guys we knew, Zach, gained a whole lot of weight...Like got to over 300 pounds. I'll admit some jealousy! We got to the restaurant and with the conversation still in my mind, I ordered the Ultimate Sampler (the most calories anything on the menu had), tho before I could pay Ian jumped in and paid for me.
We got our drinks and sat down, and after the food arrived (took a little while ) we scarfed it down and continued back home. We smelled some burning rubber while en route and I thought it was his car and its low gas tank, but we later determined that not to be the case. Right outside Cadiz at around 9:30 mum and dad called and I told them I'd be home soon. We got gas and drove on. I told Ian to drive slow in LBL and near where I lived due to deer. He drove fast. We got someone following behind us and he was convinced they were tailgating. I said to speed up. He slowed down.
Eventually we pulled into the house and I bid him farewell. I chatted with mum and dad a bit about what we did, and mum, being buzzed, kept looking at dad every time I mentioned the hoarding. I decided to give dad a break and headed downstairs. I grabbed a shower then spent time listening to musicals. I wound up staying up late chatting with frands, trying to vent how I feel about Skyder and then later about my jealousies. It was tough getting that out, but I think it helped me. I went to bed a little after 5 AM.
I hope everyone has a helping-move day! <333
