Born out of the demand to bring forward a truly modernized carrier fighter in recognition of the regrowing tensions to the north, many organizations brought forward their submissions including Ember Airworks. The requirements where strict, the majority of carriers still in Collective service where originally constructed with propeller driven aircraft in mind, which had airframes considerably smaller than many of the previous designs currently up for consideration by the Air Corps. In addition the new aircraft must be capable of achieving Mach 1.5 in level flight at 12,000m while being able to deliver the latest iteration of the anti-airship 2,000kg mk46 airdropped folding wing rocket assisted torpedo or "A-RAT".
Enter the Chariot, comfortably exceeding the required speed, the airframe is able to maintain Mach 2.15 in level flight at altitude thanks to a single EC-36-480 double afterburning turbojet producing 9.000kN thrust dry and 15.700kN wet with a thrust to weight ratio of a remarkable 0.8. This comes at the cost of a rather limited endurance of only 40min however it may be extended to 65min with the use of 2 1000L external drop tanks. The Chariot is crewed by a single pilot and armed with 2 20mm auto cannons mounted in the wing roots with 200 rounds of ammunition each. Additionally it has one of the first iterations of fighter mounted air-search radar although it is rather limited in its range and capabilities it does provided a significant advantage in combat, the preferred tactic is to use the two wingtip mounted trailing antenna to follow the radio navigation given from the carrier as it uses its larger and more powerful radar to guide its strike package to the engagement zone where they can take over with their own radar sets. The consideration of cramped hanger space onboard lead Ember Airworks to create a highly unorthodox vertical stabilizer, earning the aircraft its fair share of raised eyebrows at the selection trials but giving it yet another defining feature to stick out from the rest of the competition.
Hopefully you enjoyed reading my ramblings ^^ it was my first attempt at writing out anything like this, I have been sitting on this drawing for a while trying to think up the things I wanted to include in the description without just making it look like a Wikipedia table of specifications. any feedback would be appreciated as writing is not something I dabble in much but would love to improve at

Thank you ^^ the bottom left is the torpedo with its fins/wings both deployed and stowed, think a much slower and lower tech dumb-fire cruise missile. The main focus of what I work on is airships that are very ww2 era in their looks and capabilities but this aircraft is a bit further along that timeline. So when I say carrier launched it's an airborne carrier which is not very well convened by the description but the main focus was on the aircraft itself so I wasn't to worried about that
