Reference: Chronomancer Emika Ryusaki (2019)
Here's a character that I love to play dress-up with. I love Japan and its traditional culture, so crafting this hybrid outfit was a blast. It's a mix of a kimono, schoolgirl uniform and a Shinto shrine maiden robe.
Emika is the daughter of a tailor (father) and a Sentinel (mother) (that's a fact I recently came up with). Shortly after her birth, her mother died in the service of the Sentinels, leaving her father devastated. To make matters worse, he soon found that his daughter was born without sight. Emika was kept sheltered for the first decade of her life, surrounded by homemade plushies for company. But everything changed when she was chosen by the Ancestors to be a master of time and space -- a Chronomancer. It was then Emika knew she had to be like her Sentinel mother and defend her home. When a mysterious portal opens up -- linking their world with another -- she chooses to venture forth and join the war against the monstrous Invaders.
In combat, Emika utilizes the power of gravity to manipulate objects and her foes. She also harnesses the flow of time, slowing down an ally's perception of time allowing them to react quicker, although time magic is extremely taxing on her. Emika loves to dance and it's made her limber and agile. She often dances in battle to channel her more powerful techniques.
Emika herself is very shy and quiet, rarely approaching anyone she doesn't already know. But she's incredibly loyal. Once she stayed behind while her friends went into battle and she swore she would never do that again. A bit self-aware, she knows she sometimes carries herself as fragile and submissive, but she's learned that she could use that to catch other people off-guard. When she's anxious or lonely, she holds a gold locket that contains a portrait of her mother and she sometimes feels her presence. Even though she's never met her or heard her voice, Emika knows that she's always watching over her.
Em is crazy tall. About 6'1" (185cm). She's got long legs. :D
Oh, and she continues to collect plushies. Endless plushies.
