Awwwww... GORGEOUS gryphie. *hugsya* <3 ^v^ <3
Effortlessly captured overall form and posture in your linework and a wonderful face.... *sighs and prrrts happily*
Would I be right in thinking that's "straight onto paper" with little or no adjustment/tinkering around with the pose?
Keep up the great work and Happy New Year, Fareme,
David.

Well, you can still see a few of my guidelines in it if you look closely. I sort of 'block' in a pose before I start sketching my actual subject. Usually I use a circle to distinguish the position of the head, with a curving line for the 'swing' of the body - the body is then bulked out with a sort of jellybean shape to denote the chest and 'barrel' of the animal. After that are a few sweeping lines for limbs and wings, and then I start on fleshing everything out. The roughing lets me keep things more in perportion:} Sometimes I also go through a couple rough sketches before I finally get something how I want.
Thank you! :D
