See? That's indiana jones-y... uh.... sorta... I just like how you can play with light and shade on craggy rock surfaces, especially if you have a visible light source like a burning torch thingy or a campfire or something. Either way this is already a great pic, and I'm a biiiig fan of "mood" within a picture... you know, like a single colour theme to evoke a certain atmosphere or emotion. Good luck with whatever you choose though, I can't wait to see the final piece with a background in ^_^
Dunno why but maybe due to me been playing on Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess, but I can imagine him in Kakariko Village, so a kinda hot place, on a hill, very few buildings and not many people....actual theres only over 3 peopel walkign around the small place in game, anyway lots of oranges and yellows for the colours...its hard to describe the place, maybe easier if someone could find a picture cos Ive looked and couldnt find any =3
You did an excellent job with the highlights and shading in the hair and fur, along with the texture of it.
The fur does seem quite young and to be waiting for someone, as was mentioned earlier. http://www.furaffinity.net/view/356.....1#cid:26438659
So, outside a school or alley seems about right: something with an fantasy meets high Gothic, either with magic or high tech (think Chronicles of Riddeck, horrid movie but it had some good costume and set designs).
Others here mentioned an earth tone pallet ( http://www.furaffinity.net/view/356.....1#cid:26437221 ), but I am partial to the cool blue that is in the background, something to mess about with.
