Reference: Shaman Caoilinn Starcaller (2019)
This is a prominent character that I'm planning for Volume 2 of my story. I got impatient and really wanted to draw her. Because I love her. :D
Caoilinn ("kay-leen") is a Starcaller Shaman, gifted by the Spirits to harness the element of time and space. Alone in the world, she was taken in by the witch and cult leader, Glitha, and rose to be her apprentice. She puts on a brave face for her people as they slowly recover from poverty, but she often struggles with the weight of her prestigious role. Able to summon the Spirits in their physical form, she'll do whatever it takes to restore the knowledge and culture her people lost from war.
Her weapon still needs a name (researching Irish mythology for inspiration), but they were strongly inspired by these super cool weapon designs by danogambler on DA. https://www.deviantart.com/danogamb.....rist-616953601

In response to what I read online about artists struggling to work with shaded refs, I went with a different approach with this ref and gave it all flat colors. I'm open to constructive criticism to how it looks. :)
