Animation (0.5mb) - A little furry night live title...
A little late perhaps, here is the little title sequence I did for FNL this year.
I can't help but be a little regretful of how things turned out. Having actually modeled the character, I was left with very little time to actually animate. As a result I don't think you can see the 50 odd man hours of work put into this up on screen. The music was stitched together at the last moment at the con itself from my mp3 collection.
Original character, as seen all over FC, is Chuck, created by the incomperable Kipper.

Yeah it's definately worth sitting down and playing with it beforehand - over time you learn what's acceptable as a tradeoff in terms of quality (reactor/versus hand animation) as well as when to cut from reactor animation and go to manual, even mid-sequence, in order to cull any quirks or finish off something more abruptly (friction being fickle as it is :S ).
Naw, gifts are gained for free. My animation is earned through years of hard work, sacrifice and self belief, during which I did my fair share of heavy lifting and waiting tables to pay the bills.
I created my own opportunities. And turning tail on the games industry is tough, but its part of the process of creating greater and more fulfilling opportunities for myself in future. =O)

Very lovely amimation, you need not be told how talented you are I'm sure! I'm sorry to hear you became disillusioned with the industry, perhaps it's a matter of finding a smaller company who is still more about the passion than bottom line. I'm doing work for a smaller company and I thoroughly enjoy it, chiefly because of the amount of passion I feel from the folks running the show. I hope if nothing else, you are keeping YOUR passion for art alive :].
Deez,
You must be congratulated for doing what you did. So many people sacrifice their lives and dreams just to make payments on "toys". Dreams ARE worth chasing. May you find that balance in your life and find fun, enjoyment , meaning and a good paycheck in the work that you do. };=)
