Love is love and it takes all kinds to make a world. Even in oddly stagnant places like the Tri-Burrows area there are unusual pairings between unusual folks. From out of an immigrant community comes these two sweethearts.

Everyone in the Burrows knows (and votes for) Sheriff Beatrix Nikostytär. A hard-working, serious and stern reindeer, descended from folks from the Old Country (in her case, the Old Country is Finland.) Thus the runes carved and dyed on her antlers. Her personal notoriety was always good but it got a big boost when she and Deputy Buck Roeberts solved the Interspecies Relationship Support Network arson and cleaned the Tri-Burrows of purists and other bigots, at least the richest and most vocal of them. It let her feel comfortable enough to reveal her relationship, an interspecies one.

That small fellow is not a child. He's a wolf, a very skinny and slight one. In the old and rejected lupine ways he would have been called an omega. Now he's just called soft. Plus, reindeer are enormous beside wolves. Rimpssie Specsson, a reedy little strawberry blond curl-coated wolk. He bakes, he sews, he takes care of his household. His parents expect him to live with them and care for the home until he moves in with his wife and cares for their household. Doesnt matter the specifics, the soft supports, the strong provides. Used to be they lamented him ever finding a mate, given how wolves love strength. Finding out their housekeeper son was involved with the biggest, toughest woman they could have hoped for was more than they ever imagined. They scheme but for the best reasons. They constantly bribe Beatrix with goods and poetrical tributes (while also accepting traditional offerings of fish and other foods as a show of her providing skills) to "keep her interested." Overt family support is something both parties find refreshing.

This is a typical morning for both. Beatrix at work, with a cup of coffee, who never needs to get her own breakfast. Rimpssie always comes by with a basket of baked goods to feed her. It's a beautiful thing.
