You know while I don't make such comments I can understand why some people make them.
They like the picture and want to comment something because they think that the artist is going to want more comments rather then less.
Then they are faced with social norms and don't want to whrite what they actually feel because they don't want to be seen as weird and creepy.
But still... they want to write SOMETHING! Something nice! Just to make sure it is nice maybe write something that most people would appreciate in this situation... like being freed.
Thus missing the entire point of the piece.
To be fair though, not every artist likes their comments be like:
OwO *fondles the helpless lad* *purrs* "wer'e gonna have so much fun"
Even without the owos and the *s just stating how much they are gonna cum and how they would follow up on the scene might not be welcomed by the artist.
And then there's those who don't like the fetish yet still comment for some reason, maybe believing that by writing that one sentence people will "wake up and see how fucked up this is"
An then there's me who goes to most pictures just to read comments and now you ask yourself: Who is the real masochist in this scenario?

Um, I don't think in the first case is always like that. Most people making that kind of comment are often actually concerned about the characters involved. They *really* believe that they are being heroes. It's often either someone really young or, with problems to discern reality from fiction or someone who simply hates the fetish.
That in my experience at least! And reading comments is fun. You learn a lot about people that way.

Well I didn't want to imply that those are the only options, that's why I said "some people". I might have even itterated further on that if my comment wasn't already really long.
I also know that comments requesting change in a direct or indirect manner rarely come from a bad place but often from pure misunderstanding and being uninformed.
Sometimes it is purely societal even.
And yes some are really young but I met too many people who just stayed like that for ever since they weren't prompted to change by anyone ever, and now they hate everything and everything hates them... so maybe I am too cynical or something.

Same here, I guess I was just surprised because I never personally met someone going through that reasoning (it goes without saying that the fact I didn't see it doesn't mean your case doesn't exist) and I wanted to add to that, sorry if I gave out the impression of trying to cross you, being my English limited I might seem a little *too* stern even when it's not the case.
No, you're the opposite of cynical, actually, someone who says that certain manners never come from a bad place has a very positive view on things! And you're also very, very right. Personally I just grew tired of it because, having posted bondage art for years, I've met a few specific comments over and over, hence why the little comic. But I made it light heated and silly for that very reason, hoping to tackle some deeper problems with most lewd artists which, due to exposure to hatred towards bondage, non-con and other more extreme fetishes, feel *very* uncomfortable with themselves.
It was nice exploring the subject with you, I gotta say.

I realize I'm responding to a 5 year old comment, but:
I did that once, the whole "wish for the character to be saved out of genuine concern."
I've also done a lot worse than that.
Turned out I had unaddressed anxiety issues and undiagnosed autism, with no idea how to handle emotions that I knew were ridiculous but couldn't otherwise overcome.
Not that it excused any of my actions, of course.
But yeah, some insight into why some people are like "saves you" even when they're adults.

*Evil laughter* OK honey bunny, let's play~
We'll start with some packing and since I'm shy on lacey underthings, let's go with two pairs of tube socks.
Followed with a four-inch ball gag buckled in place.
Then a layer or three of tape to keep things tidy and mostly dry.
For style, we'll use two matching bandanas for an OTN gag and a blindfold.
After all that, we'll tuck bunny buddy in a burlap bag and then... couldn't say.
that would be telling~
