This is a pair of characters I haven't shown before. The fox on the left is Pepper, and the squirrel on the right is Wafer. These two are for another story of mine that I'd like to turn into a game someday, an RPG specifically. These are the first color drawings I've done of the pair. And I admit...I could definitely use some work with colored pencil. But it was fun to do some traditional art again.

Wafer is the main character of the story. A young magic user determined to help the world by fighting against an evil group known as the Four Kings. At the moment, she's a silent protagonist. But that may change depending on how I approach things later on.

Pepper is the first party member to join Wafer and has known her for a long time. Pepper is a fellow magic user, and has gone on multiple adventures. Mature and understanding, she offsets Pepper's youthful impulses.

My ultimate plan for the game is to have it look like a classic, 2D animated film. Vibrant backgrounds, dark story elements, hope, and hand animated characters. And the gameplay will be a spiritual successor to Paper Mario, with action commands used in combat and partners will special abilities on the field.

I'll slowly reveal more about them and their world as I post more images of these two.
