Drakebloods are supposedly descendants of demodragons that managed to reproduce and create their own race.
They are formidable creatures of great size with pronounced draconic features, from the monstrous snout and maws to the long horns, from their coat of scales and spikes to the long lashing tail.
Drakebloods are extremely long lived, thanks to their draconic ancestry, and most live for many hundreds, if not thousands, of years. This longevity is offset by a very reduced fertility, combined with a particularly slow growth, and by their antisocial tendencies.
Most drakebloods measure between 300 and 400 cm in height and weigh between 400 and 700 kg. Their scales usually have earthly or dark colours, with brown, grey and brick red being the most common; other colours are however possible, including green, blue, black and white. These colours do not mark different subraces or ethnics. Their sexual dimorphism is minimal; females tend anyway to have broader hips, a narrower torso, and smoother and less spiky coats of scales.
Drakebloods tend to share many of the defining features of dragons, and are often malicious, greedy, narcissistic and selfish. It is very rare for drakebloods to form communities or build settlements, and most of them live alone, guarding their home or wandering the land, and only occasionally bonding with others of their kin. Few Drakebloods integrate in the societies of other civilized races, although they often end up in its fringes. It is not uncommon for drakebloods to become criminal ringleaders or warlords, using creatures they deem lesser to further their goals (and their ego).
