NiGHTS is one of those interesting scenarios to me where it's been an interest of mine for so long that it's totally transcended my actual opinion of the games. Not to say that I dislike NiGHTS Into Dreams and while Journey of Dream had it's flaws, I think it's fine. It's more that I've come to love the aesthetic of NiGHTS so much more so then I really don't even need the games. It's just something that has existed in the back of my brain for as long as I can remember and I have this little hooded twink to thank for cultivating both my love of jesters and androgyny... but that's a story for another day.

While I've had some genuine reasons for wanting the 4 previous characters in Smash, whether it be due to their legacy in gaming or a lot of good possibilities for a move set, this one I'll admit is purely personal. I doubt there's a huge amount you could do with NiGHTS-(not that that's ever once stopped Sakurai before)-and there are plenty of other characters who easily deserve a spot over this little known title in Sega's backlog; Hell, I myself have a few I'd probably put over him. Travis Touchdown, Rayman, Hollow Knight, Geno, Shovel Knight, Dr. Eggman, just to name a few. Truthfully if I had my ultimate pic it would be Sans as a legitimate fighter instead of a Mii costume... but for now that's what we got and I don't want to harp too much on things that almost got in. I'll be content with what we got.

No. This is just a personal want of mine. A character I'd love to see more done with, besides the scarce cameos he's allotted from time to time and given Smash's history of digging essentially dead video game characters out of their graves, this would definitely be the place to breath some life back into this old series, but that's me. I guess a man can dream... get it? ...I'm sorry.
