Yes, his story is based around a real legend; yes, the real castle really was rebuilt to avoid the critter; and yes, the Isle of Man really does have a Sword of State. Yes, an actual sword that has to be present at their equivalent of Congress in order for legislation to take place. Folklore is awesome.
