Billy Ruger and the Gun Factory
Hovard wanted a drawing of his boss, Willian Ruger. Apparently the team at Sturm Ruger in Prescott Arizona nickname him Willy Wonka.I just played with the title and added Hovard to the image (especially since this won't wind up in the factory locker room somewhere).
Yeah, could use a few more to get this month covered and also replace my late Conure.

Yeah, i know a few folks like you. A couple I've taken shooting to get their trigger fix, but they themselves say that they don't trust themselves owning one.
One guy actually asked "What would you do if I did this?" and stuffed the barrel in his own mouth! Thankfully the gun was unloaded, I also banned him from all target shooting events or handling any of my weapons.

People used to tell me what junk Ruger was. I never had a problem with their product, and at one time, half of my collection was Ruger products.
I met William B. 'Bunny' Ruger, Jr. at a gun show in Massachusetts many years ago; the Old Man was still alive back then. A very pleasant gentleman.

The fellow I met was the son, known as 'Bunny' to friends and family. He convinced me to buy a P94, which happens to be Target Gray, as opposed to the regular polished/brushed stainless.
I named my .308 Varmint/Target (also in Target Gray) Mr. Bill, but not in honor of Mr. Ruger. I'm looking for a .223 version I plan to name Lady Hillary. So far, I can't find an AR-14 to name Demented Joe.

"Hell for rugged" is a phrase the gun writers used a lot. The Old Man discarded a design for a .308 version of what became the Mini-14/Mini-30 (I have one of each) because they were able to shoot it out within 15,000 rounds.
I have a Service-Six built for U.S.P.O. Inspectors. It has a 4" barrel and a bobbed hammer -- ANIB and apparently unfired. I also have a GPNY -- a later gun designed for use by the New York State Police, but IIRC, before the contract was fulfilled, the State pulled the plug. Similar condition, but the bobbed hammer has been replaced with a standard spur. (* dammit *)

I have a Nambu myself, plus two Mk2s, one with a bull barrel https://www.furaffinity.net/view/6523249/
Why am I not surprised by that, of course you do. Gosh! You have no idea how jealous I am right now of you. I've always wanted a Nambu! You'd think there would be one here, but, alas...
Filipinos probably melted down the guns to make frying pans or something.

The Nambu is actually a pretty weak caliber, but still look cool. They used to be really cheap, usually well under $300 for a clean one with Holster. Plus the 8mm Nambu ammo is non existent. Though I own a box of original ammo (That itself is a collectors item!) plus fifty rounds of reloadable ammo. I've put maybe 10 rounds down range with my Nambu in 25 years. It just sits in a display case now.
Well I'll make it up to you, You can stare at Fatimah's chest :) https://www.furaffinity.net/view/32788355/ She might make you dance, duck and weave though :)
Bill Ruger based the Standard/Mk 1 on a Japanese 7mm Baby Nambu. He acquired one from a USMC veteran after WW2 and duplicated it at his machine shop. He had been in the firearms industry during the War and after the was was trying to make Hand Drills. Look up Ruger Drill sometime. That company flopped but using equipment from the tool factory and changing the Nambu design to .22lr he had a hit on his hands. $37.50 was the original price in 1949 - you sent Ruger a Check and he mailed you a Pistol. I owns a 1970 Vintage Standard - fits great in a WW2 Swedish leather holster for the Lahti 9mm. Have a MkIV .22 bull barrel too along with a safe that is mostly full of Ruger product.
A friend of mine was at a gunshow with me a few years ago and a old WW2 Marine vet came in with a baby nambu with holster and 100 rounds of ammo. My friend whos a huge Japanese guns fan, asked to borrow $450 from me I had on me at the time (This was when regular Nambu's were averaging $150-200.)
He was talking to the vet asking prices, was looking at actually getting it for $250, when this fat sonofabitch walked past eyeing the gun and bellowed outloud "Holy Shit a baby Nambu! Those are RARE!!! I'll give you $500 for it right now!" Between what my friend had and I had, was around $700, and Fatboy just bellowed louder, drawing the attention to other dealers who came forward to see the Nambu. And the Fat Lard ass was loudly saying as one dealer drew the vet away "Damn, I could have sold that for $1200-$1500 easy!!" Needless to say, my friend didn't get the Baby Nambu, and we just verbally smacked the fat ass for being an utter tard!! Turns out that guy was loud from the word Go. We heard the vet got $1100 for the Nambu.
I ran into that Fat ass a few more times, always loud, always butting into sales that others are conducting. I lost one sale when I had a table when a guy was buying a rifle I had and that fat shit eyed the guy saying "I saw another one for $100 less in the other room!" I lost the sale!

Yeah, seems like the infant Nambu is a rare one. When you do, take her home! Nurture her til the end of days.
I'd be so lucky to even find an airsoft. We've had M3's, Lugers, M16's, C96's, Garands, Nagants, Kar98's, MP40's, Winchesters...all air/ CO2 powered (since antique gun collecting isn't a novelty here), but never a Nambu.
Can't even buy one online, customs wouldn't allow it.

At one time I had the factory 30 round Mini 14 magazines that were supposed to be for Law Enforcement only. Most gun shop owners in Texas at the time - late 1980s didn't care. Sold the Mini off in 1989 when folks panic bought anything semi auto after the Bush import ban on certain rifles. Had some joker come up to me while standing in line at a gunshow bellowing "They are banning those! How Much? He started pulling $100 bills out and I nodded when he got to 8 of them. I had about $250 in the gun and it had a horrible problem with the barrel warping as it heated up - 11 inch vertical stringing of shots at 50 yards - start with a cold barrel and 30 rounds - slow fire first 5 would be dead center, the rest would climb from there. Post 2005 Mini's are a lot nicer - tighter tolerances, better barrels - thicker and a buffer system in the action.
Oh you can find some interesting info online about the XG I project. Was a shame they didn't work the bugs out - I wanted one badly when they were announced and the fact they were set up for M14 magazines made it even more desirable. The M 1 carbine type gas system and excessive pounding by the op rod / gas block made for horrible barrel vibrations - just wouldn't group.
The seller is luckyline1945 on Ebay. Holster is for the 4 inch Victory Model Smith & Wesson - I know it can be wet fitted to other 4 inch revolvers. Look them over, not sure if they have one for 6 inch. I'd fitted one to a 3 inch barrel 1917 Colt .45 acp revolver - a Fitz type cut down with some police markings on it and Fray Merschon steel lined rubber grips - pre WW2 grips that Pachmyer ended up getting the rights to. One of my bosses bought it off of me a year ago - former cop who collects that sort of thing
