“Tatakai to wa, saigo ni dochira ga tatteiru ka. Sore dake da.” (Translation: A fight is about who is left standing. Nothing else.)
She was beautiful…yet terrifying at the same time. It had been a while since he had seen her last: she had changed. Not necessarily in a bad way, but her disposition seemed…colder. As if she had been through so much, her once soft, innocent spirit had been broken. It was almost as if she had an aura of desolation around her…
Not that she gave him much time to think about it considering she was currently trying to kill him! But then some things never change…
As she reached for her sword, she eyed her prey, wondering if he knew what he was getting himself into. He didn't seem to be in a rush to begin as he nonchalantly reached for his blade strapped on his back, and held it up in a defensive stance…interesting. With a nod, he ushered her to begin.
As she rushed towards him, she noticed his stance and how he was holding his sword; he was not making any attempts to attack her- just block and defend himself. Wasn’t he the one that challenged her to a duel? She shrugged it off, her bloodlust and fighting spirit ramped up by this mysterious challenger-
But what was this…?
Somehow he was able to parry all of her moves, and it did not seem as if he was even trying that hard. It actually appeared as if he was…playing with her?
But how?! She knew most of the fighters and swordsmen in the area, yet this guy did not seem familiar. At least at first glance.
…who was this guy?!
Sensing her curiosity, he gingerly lowered his blade, putting it to the ground, his other hand in the air to let her know this maneuver wasn’t a trick or trap. He was merely appeasing her curiosity. As he reached his hand up to remove the mask covering his face-
“Damnit, not you again!!!” she hissed as she was greeted by an all too familiar face.
“Hello Whisper. Long time no see. I’ve missed our…interactions.” Grimm gave her a toothy grin as he tried not to wag his stub too much in amusement. “You should have known I am one of the few people that can actually keep up with you! I am surprised I was able to disguise myself long enough for you not to realize who I was.” She merely rolled her eyes, not sure whether to laugh or stab him with the blunt end of her weapon.
Seeing as the cat was out of the bag, Grimm began to take off his disguise and armor. As he took off his weighted armor, it hit the ground with a hard thud- what was he wearing, an extra 50 or 60 pounds?! He adjusted his shoulders, relieved that the extra weight was off of him and he could move more freely now.
“NOW then! Shall we fight for real now?”
(To be continued)
I hope tolerabledog doesn’t mind that I used his character Grimm for my description! Whisper can fight him because he’s somewhat able to keep up with her…
That and she just likes to beat him up…A LOT. No, no, don’t feel bad for him, he can handle it! It was either him or my other friends; I took the nice path for a change! Haha.
Wrapping up some art of Whisper’s winter fur. So I'll probably be spamming everyone's inbox throughout the week with some last minute art of Whisper (hopefully no one minds).
I want to give a huge thanks to the talented artist behind this piece: nitricacid. I’ve worked with Nitric several times now and she always makes my girl look awesome!
A noir style piece of art with just a hint of color to make it pop! I love it.
Random fact: the color purple symbolizes creativity, wisdom, dignity, devotion, peace, pride, mystery, independence, and magic. However, darker hues of purple can represent gloom, sadness, and frustration.

He wasn’t sure whether to be afraid or in awe of her.
