Byr are colossal amalgamations of weaponised Allmatter. They are kept near active volcanic areas, both to mitigate the effect of the volcanoes and regulate their output and to provide energy for the hyperweapon configuration.
If a Sen planet such as Rau were threatened by something that cannot fully be addressed in orbit, the Byr stand as a last defense for the planet's surface.
