Clickety-clack reviews: wooden railway bulgy
Well guys, I don't know what to say here, so let's just get into it.
My history: bulgy is one of quite a few characters I've met that I haven't seen in their debut episode. To put it simply, I fist saw bulgy in the episode "bulgy rides again" and not his debut/namesake episode. It wouldn't be until a few years later that I'd see him in his episode titled "bulgy". It was quite surprising to young me that bulgy was such a flat tire. It was also quite a shock to me that he reappeared in cgi, what I didn't like was how he went back to his anti-rail persona which I think should have been a part of him hat DIDN'T come back, oh well. As for the model itself, I had him as a child, but lost him along with my original collection. My second model (the one pictured above) I got from a teacher during sixth grade. I ended up losing him for awhile in a family-owned restaurant that had a train table (the engine and rolling stock options were limited, give me a break!). I eventually got him back, but he had suffered quite a bit in the hands of children whom clearly had no sense of care for anything. He's been back with me ever since.
Pros:
1: the detail is both simple, and intricate at the same time.
2: the face is really well-done.
Cons:
1: The "anti-rail league" and "railway bus" banners are on the wrong sides (as is the case with most bulgy models).
2: the front and back lights are lopsided (bulgy's front-right one is tucked under his face, eww...).
Final score: 8/10 great model with few flaws!
