Yeah, so obviously this isn't a painted Skaven character, or Giant Rats, or even a painted ANYTHING, really. Life and Covid-19 hit me with a right hook this month and really messed up my painting schedule. At the beginning of the month, I had a sinus infection. That got fixed, and I was all set to paint. I got the four Skaven characters based and primed, and then... then Covid-19 happened.
I am not sick. I did not catch the evil. Nobody I see in person has caught it yet. So why did my schedule get messed up? Because the city I live in went into "sequester." It is like lockdown but a little more lenient. Sounds... not horrible, right? But it meant that fewer people were riding the buses I use... which meant the bus company was losing money and had empty buses more often than not. So they dropped weekday trips down to the weekend schedules, so my morning and evening commutes practically doubled in length. Yay.
...and then work happened. My work was deemed "essential services," so I am still working. But my department head decided he didn't want to lose the $3K he spent on vacation plans, so he went to Amsterdam despite the warnings. When he got back two weeks ago, they quarantined him. He gets out of quarantine tomorrow. Another person in my department thought about it, talked to his wife, and decided to retire NOW, instead of in September. So there's my department at work, down two people already. Basically, instead of painting, I have been pulling OVERTIME. For those who are unemployed right now, my sincere condolences. I have the opposite problem. Not enough employees and too much work that needs to be done.
The only thing I have had time to do is cut a 1/16" square rod into hundreds of tiny square rivets for my Grot Tanks. Oh, and laundry. Lots of laundry. Therefore, I had to claim a mulligan for March. I will try to paint enough in April to make up for missing March. I am on vacation starting in two days, so I have high hopes that I will have time to get some painting done...
