ah, bible stories... the greatest argument for becoming atheist

Well that’s up to the individual. I personally find them inspiring and more and more we’re finding historical and Archaeological evidence for much of the stories :)

I don't see what's inspiring about a bunch of stories that are summarized with "obey an authoritative figure or else" but to each their own.

I understand quite perfectly and I am quite able to come to my own conclusions based on the information I am being presented with. which is why I have the views and opinions that I have. please don't assume things like "I'm just not willing to understand and just came here to start strife" when you yourself have made no attempt to engage in a conversation, let alone bothered to actually listen to what I have to say.

okay, first of all: offense is taken, not given. secondly: another assumption of yours. the comment was meant to start up conversation just as any first comment usually is (and by the way, both me and AngART said our indiviudal respective pieces and that was the end of it). that you feel offended by is on you. I could explain myself in further detail but first, I actually do have a question for you: you said that you wanted me to explain myself and immediately with the next breath you told me that you have no intention to debate with me but are just telling me to take a hike (by the way: rude). so here is my question: which is it? do you want an honest and civil discussion/debate (which was my intention in the first place) so i can properly explain myself or are you just gonna say to take a hike which would mean that our conversation ends here?

I love the art, but I’ve never liked the Adam an Eve story. It has “obey only god or else” written all over it and it’s just icky to me. Not to say there’s nothing good to take away from the Bible (especially where Jesus is concerned). Like, what was the deal with a fruit of knowledge being so bad? Isn’t having knowledge a good thing or is there something I’m missing.
