As a species, Daevis are naturally curious. They greatly enjoy listening to any and all tales – true, or fake – and try to take anything spoken to them to heart. The written word, though still appreciated, is not held in as great of regard (unless, of course, you are lucky enough to give your books to a Star Caller).
Smartphones, computers and other tech that can produce videos are grey areas. In general, live broadcasts are held to the same integrity of spoken word while recorded lines are a little more fallible. Despite this, Daevis will go as far as to fight amongst themselves to be the first to view such precious knowledge straight from the source, and can easily become obsessed with digital devices if not monitored.
Pyre is no exception to this rule – in her excitement at viewing cute videos (birds being the worst culprit!), she’s melted multiple phones. Hiding devices away behind thick screens or even keeping a fair distance away does not work well as, bluntly, her eyesight sucks without magical enhancement – and magical enhancement means heat. Current protocol involved gearing up in a heat-resistant suit and praying your phone survives. It’s mostly a success; things can get a little toasty, but her fear of burning a friend tends to temper her excitement.
It doesn’t stop the ear flops, though.Nothing can stop those.
