I wonder if the alien cephalopod might be a sentient being whom is quite curious and playful and whom would like to join RAPIDS as a team member, so this is their way of proving their credentials by defeating Gaua, Tir and Demitri in mock combat. I think once they're all caught in the cephalopod's tentacles that they will be let go and the squid will make puppy dog eyes in the hope that Rar and Wa'al will agree that it can join the team as a new member.
