There are times when two completely different individuals actually find something in common or just like each other, and decide to spend their time together. Such was the case of Fang Hua Ming, known as the school's biggest bully, and Archibald Stanton, schools' biggest bookworm and usual target of the school's pranksters.
Fang-Hua always used to pick on everyone since day one she signed in the school, terrorizing the school halls, picking fights with anyone and getting in all sorts of troubles. One of her most common targets was Archibald, and despite the fact she would always hit him, shove him, throw his stuff away or even steal lunch money, he was always acting friendly towards her the next time they meet. She was very confused with this act of his, so one day she decided to talk to him.
"Listen four-eyes, you'd better give me some sort of explanation, and I want it now. All these years, I never made a single kind gesture towards you, I always stole your stuff, beat you, flush your head in the toilet, and God knows what else. Yet you always acted mishy-mooshy towards me, offered me help with projects, homework and studying, and even sometimes covered my back in front of professors. Why???"
He was surprised that she actually approached him about the matter, so he sat down next to her and looked her in the eyes. "It's because I know you aren't like this actually. And I know why are you shutting yourself away from others." "What are you talking about? I'm not-" he suddenly interrupts her. "Where did you hear that you can make friends by picking fights with everyone? C'mon Fang, I can read you like an open book. Allow me to explain my point of view." That's when he begins his own explanation to her behavior.
One day he found some old newspaper articles in the school library and he noticed one that caught his attention. Mayor's son, heavily under narcotics, crashed with another vehicle, killing the driver, who was none other than Fang Hua's mother. He was never found guilty for her death, and got away with it, which made then young Fang Hua become bitter and furious at everyone. "You suddenly began seeing enemies in everyone, for letting the one who killed your mother slip away."
She looked at him for a couple of minutes, then shook her head. "Now what makes you think that's the reason for me shutting myself away from others?" "Because those are usual symptoms with persons who lost someone or are having trouble in the family. They usually vent it out by picking on those around themselves. All this time you were trying to make yourself feel easier by picking on everyone, but be honest, it sometimes made things worse, right? Thinking you might actually be doing the wrong thing, but you still do it anyway." She then realized he made a good point, but still wanted to ask him something. "So what do you want me to do now?"
He stands up and takes his backpack. "It's up to you. I was just expressing my opinion on why are you being like that towards everyone, not telling you what to do." With that, he walks away, as she remained there, sitting and thinking about what he just said to her. With time, she indeed calmed down, and began hanging around with Archibald. Still, some part of her rough attitude still remained, so outside she seemed like the old, bully Fang Hua to those who didnt know her as well as Archibald or some other people did. With time, Fang and Archie became really close and spent alot more time together. When asked why is she spending her time with him, she just replies "I find him really interesing. And cute, in a way."
Then, a week before the prom, Archibald tried to gather courage to ask her if she would like to go with him to the dance. He was never good in such situations, and even though they became good friends, he was worried about how will she react to his proposal. He found her outside the school, just finished beating up another bully that was messing with one of Archie's friends. She had a furious look on her face, that is, until she saw Archibald, and that moment, a smile appeared on her face. "Hey Archie, what are you doing here?"
He just scratched the back of his head, standing in front of the tall girl that looked down at him, waiting for him to say something.
"Err, well.......I wanted to ask you something......seeing that the prom dance is approaching, and I can't find a date......would you-" he's interrupted as she quickly finishes the sentence instead of him. "Go to the dance with you?" She slightly turned red in her face as he blinked, then just nodded in reply. She smirks and moves closer to him, leaning down as she kissed his nose. "Dont keep me waiting, four eyes. You got yourself a date." With that, she left. He stood there for who knows how long, until the biggest smile ever appeared on his face.
The day has finally come, and Archibald was waiting for his partner at the agreed spot outside the dancing hall. He was extremely nervous, until he heard a familiar voice calling his name. the moment he turned around, his jaw hit the floor as he looked at the amazonian feline standing in front of him, her elegant blue dress tightly hugging her well built body, high heels making her slightly taller than she is, with a self-confident smile on her face as she noticed his reaction. "What's the matter four-eyes? Never saw a nicely dressed girl in your life? C'mon, I dont wanna be late!" Before he managed to say anything, she took his hand as they entered the hall.......
