I actually dunno why I picked Hakuro out of the other, more involved side characters to design. I think it's because he's very iconic despite only appearing towards the first arc's end. Maybe it's the crazy eyes, crazy laugh, and crazy comfort level around strangers. Who knows? Who cares? Hakuro is lit, end of discussion. Besides, I wanted to design at least one husky and I hate the Mutsu generals lmao
Hakuro's design has the most radical, nonsensical changes from manga to anime. His OG design is that of a basic black and white husky, but his TV design is vibrant orange with black-ringed eyes and a teal (yes, teal!) nose. The only thing consistent between his designs is the scars on the side of his face and his piercing, scary blue eyes, the creepy kind that real huskies have. I tried to combine both the orange and black designs and markings, but admittedly he doesn't look like a purebred husky anymore. I guess that's expected to happen when your lineage is composed of feral animals.

i just never saw them as truly Good Guys. like, esp wrt the anime's writing, they're just kinda big boisterous bullies who only stop terrorizing people who just asked them for help and wanted them to stop killing their friends because they shared a common enemy. if it weren't for the bears coming for them, too, they likely never would've joined the ohu dogs and wouldn't have felt a lick of regret over slaughtering several of its platoons
