not knocking on your car but what is the appeal of these single slams? With relatively low compression (9.5:1 when B18c gets up to 11.5:1 depending on model) and only 106 ft/lbs of tq and 125 hp, unless your planning forced induction why not go up and go K or B, hell i've even seen the Legend V6 crammed in a hatch
oh and in case you were curious http://www.hondatuningmagazine.com/....._v6/index.html
Mmm...That looks like one that would fit a 92-95, if I remembermy distributor plug wiring. If it's new, right on, heheheh, If it's used...turbocharge the thing. Don't use a giant T3/T4 though...the Civic doesn't produce that much exhaust velocity to spin it right in the daily driver category. Rather, use either a .42/.48 T3 or a Warner Ishi IHI turbo from a Ford 2.3L Turbo. I'm pretty sure you'll be happy if you do a turbo setup...but if you still wanna go N/A, go for a JDM OBD1 ZC DOHC and a 1995 Civic SI computer for the B16A. Lines right up with the D-series transmissions, plugs right in to the connectors, and will give you 135hp stock vs 118 or so stock with that one...and they are really easy to mod them. You will drop the VTEC, but, you make it up twice by the high-rpm, low crank-stroke ratio, and high compression the ZC makes.
VTEC engines hate boost. Honestly, you'd probably be best off using a non-VTEC engine and cammig it out. The reason I say this is because, VTEC, as you know, runs off both electric signal and oil pressure. Boost increases pressure, so the pin will fly through at way too low an RPM. Hence, you will bog down...if you don't invest money in a computer controller, such as the Apexi unit, and a wideband O2 sensor, 3Bar MAP sensor, and a performance IAC. The ones that went the distance have kicked so much ass, but I think you might be able to pull at least 2/10th faster if you use a cammer non-VTEC engine.
Thank ya much, heheh. And oh yeah, I do know my shit, lol. I once had a 93 Integra RS that I frankensteined with a B20B block, Keith Black pistons, a B16A head, and a ton of other stuff.
If you want an easier way to chip it, rather than investing in a module for the ECU, try getting an MSD nitrous switch box and wiring it into the distributor and VTEC solenoid. I mounted mine in the glove box with a 4400RPM pill, and noticed a giant difference. It's quicker and easier than trying to get the P28 to think like you want it to.
