a character for Shadowrun, transgenetically altered into a humanoid lion, and running a little private studio where he produces and plays all kinds of heavy metal... and occasionally goes into the shadows for extra funds and the thrill of the hunt.
the facial marking is only paint, but no metalhead is complete without corpsepaint. or a pandaface as we put it in germany. XD

haha well I'm always careful as I once saw a bit of art that had "Don't break the oath" as the title and I think "hey thats a Mercyful Fate reference" posted some lyrics and then.... had the explain it all as the artist had no idea what I was on about.
I've been making use of the custom user titles thing for metal references now, just for my own amusement.

I've been GMing runs into the Shadows on and off since about 2005. Its funny, I played Shadowrun a few times before then, but then I read Neuromancer and it just... clicked. I got what cyberpunk was all about, and I devoured any cyberpunk fiction I could find, and then started to incorporate it in my own games. Too bad most of my players were uncultured swine who didn't read and never saw the connections.
ah. it took me a while to get back at Neuromancer, until a german publisher re-released all three books in one, and I saw the references and ideas used for shadowrun. I started with it in 1993, during my time with german army, where I stumbled over a few gamers almost by accident. we had fun for a while before the group broke apart due to army reasons.
I also read most of the novels to that theme including a few that weren't worth the paper... my goodness, someone really tried to cast their campaign notes into a novel without re-reading it at least once and left the reader with characters that talked like 18th century prosa, a side story that just vanished, and an end scene that was... just done. really, I still wonder what happened there. suddenly the bad guy was dead.
but you know, never trust an elf, never deal with a dragon, and choose your enemies carefully!

My favorite novels are still the Neuromancer trilogy, Snowcrash (highly recommended) and Babylon Babies (later made into the movie Babylon AD). My players never caught the references I would drop into each of my games about those novels. :( some of the actual Shadowrun novels were fun too. I've GMed Shadowrun so much, I wouldn't mind sitting on the other side of the table next time. If I could find someone willing to do 3rd edition over 5th. I feel like it lost a lot of it's grittiness once the matrix went wireless
ah, I know Snowcrash. :) when he revved up that bike he nicked, and it made just a wheeze, beacuse this baby was way too efficient to make noise; and I was like, "YEAH!"
haven't heard of Babylon Babies, gotta look it up.
5e is decent, compared to 4e... what, all the matrix is dead? and all the previous rules are gone and what replaced them doesn't make sense?
I heard 6e isn't really an improvement. :P at least 5e allows for real furries instead of cosmetics and cyberware. though it's costly... and I'd have liked a little more description than just one paragraph. especially when it comes to price tags and what's actually possible.
