Kurojaki is one of my favorite villains in all of Ginga purely because of his design. There's been discussions before about what breed the Koga clan is supposed to be, and though I'm not sure if there has been a canonical answer, here's my answer: there ain't one. Kogas are make believe. They have to be, right? No actual breed of dog on the planet has both stripes and spots and fucking 80s mohawks. I took Kurojaki's design in a very different direction. There's no such thing as a dog that has both stripes and spots... with one exception. Brindle merles exist, and though they're not exactly like Kurojaki, they do in fact have stripes IN their spots. That's pretty killer, and it's an aesthetic I've held near and dear for a long time. So Kuro gets a huge mohawk, brown and black brindle merle that's just bordering on tweed, and the collar he got from his short tenure as a circus dog. He's unique among the other Kogas for having this coat, save his lil baby son Tesshin. Maybe someday you people will get to see his kid, too.
