New story! Part two will be coming soon!
On a rainy night, in the middle of a forest, mayhem accrued. Tristen ran as fast as he could, not turning back or stopping for anything. He had been running for over an hour now, and he didn’t have any plan on stopping until he was sure that what was following him was gone.
You see, Tristen was a seven-year-old orphaned boy panda from a nearby village from the forest he was running in now. Tristen hated his village and always was in some sort of mischief. In fact, he was on the brink of being banished from the orphanage for his disrespect. And for Tristen, it was the final straw. So, he decided to go become an adventurer, and his first stop, the forbidden forest.
The reason why it was called the forbidden forest? Because according to the rumors of the village, scary beasts lived in the flurry of trees, anyone who went into the forest never came out. And because of that no one was allowed to enter the treacherous land. But because Tristen was running away, he thought that rule didn’t matter, and he decided to go into the forest and start a journey.
Back the present, Tristen I still running through the forest, sweat running down his face. His face and arms stinging from the cuts from thorns and branches. But because of all the emotions he was feeling and the adrenaline running through his entire body, he barley felt it. Suddenly, he began to hear branches move behind him, and the sound of a girl giggling. “Oh no! It’s still behind me!” The panda said to himself.
The panda began to run faster, and faster, not thinking of the consequences of what might happen. And without warning he tripped over a root sticking up from the ground and fell right onto the muddy surface of wet dirt. He looked up and around him, the creature wasn’t at him yet. But when he went to get up, his leg began to sting. He looked down at it, and to his grief, he could see a large cut running straight down his leg. He tried to fight through the pain, but his leg hurt so badly, even through the adrenaline, that it was nearly impossible for him to even stand on it.
Soon, the adrenaline began to wear off, and the pain from the cuts all over his body began to sink in, the pain increasing as time went on. Tristen tried to focus on escaping and not the pain, but no matter what he did, the singing pain of his cuts just wouldn’t go away. “I-I need to get up!”
Tristen wiped the tears from his eyes, his breathing beginning to increase as his dire situation sank into his head. “Someone please! Help me!” he cried out. But because he so deep into the forest, and the loud sound of rain surrounded him, it was impossible to hear him from even a yard away.
But then, he heard the giggling again, and then branches rustling. He looked inti the direction of where the rustling came from, his fur standing on edge. His eyes widened, tears filling his eyes, he may of never seen the creature, but he was sure it was here to eat him.
A hand came out from some of the branches in front of him, and then other, the giggling getting louder. His hyperventilating increasing as the monster showed more and more of itself. The creatures head was next to come out. It was difficult to see, but its ears were long and floppy. He started at the creature, is glossy eyes reflecting from the rain, showing them staring directly at him. As it fully came out of the bush, Tristen fear only came immeasurable, as it figure was three times the size of him! He looked as small as a baby beside the creature!
Tristen tried to move back, but because his adrenaline was beginning to lack and the pain and exhaustion of running for so long was starting to catch up to him, he could barely move. The creature started to move up to the child “No wait please!” The panda said putting his hands out to try and block the creature.
The creature then put it’s hands out to Tristen, it looked like It was about to pick the boy up. The boys closed his eyes, scared for what he believed would happen next, his doom. “I DON’T WANNA BE EATEN!” The boy cried, tears flowing down his face, intertwining with the pouring rain. But after a few seconds, he didn’t feel anything grab him. And he didn’t hear the girly giggling anymore.
“Eat you?” He heard a voice say. The voice sounded feminine and girly, like the giggling he heard before. confused he opened his eyes. The creature was still standing there, but its head was turned in one direction, showing its confusion. “Why would I want to eat you?” That some voice asked.
Tristen stared in disbelief, also confused. Tear still running down his eyes, he looked up to the creature’s glossy eyes. Suddenly, the noise of lightning echoed through his ears. And soon with that, light from the bolt.
Tristen’s jaw dropped in pure disbelief in what he saw from that quick glimpse of the creature.
The reason the creatures ears were so floppy and long, was because the creature was some kind of bunny. And not only that, it seemed to be wearing something…. pink. He though he saw seems on its arms and legs, but he couldn’t tell from how quickly the light from the lightning went.
Tristen was in shock, not because of the fear he was in, but because the creature, didn’t seem evil. Which was unheard of to him because everyone in the village heard that these monsters were man-eating, ugly beasts. But this wasn’t the case, even in the rain the creature looked dry, and almost seemed…cute.
Suddenly, his head began to hurt. In a mix of emotions, running all day, and confusion. He began to feel his body shut down. Laying down in the gross, muddy ground, his vision slowly turning to black. The last thing he remembered was seeing the creature above him, and feeling its warm, fuzzy, and somehow dry hands pick him up. But after that, black.
The creature looks down at the child in her arms and smiles. "Don't worry sweetie." The plushie said, a door appearing behind her. "Me and the other's will take good care of you." She walks to the door and opens it, walking inside.
