Darn seagulls, they are the bringers of my fever dreams. Not only are they criminally insane and have no manners at all, they also have to invade my sleeping mind with all kind of horrid imagination.
Just imagine how it is to wake up early in the morning, covered in sweat, whole body is aching, the throat is sore, the head feels like a boiler, and then you see a silhouette in front of you.
You focus and discover it's a gigantic seagull, it's webbed feet are planted real good on your mattress, the towering height is intimidating, and it's cold, searching stare is penetrating your thoughts, leaving questions about your sanity. A messenger, a bringer of dreams so horrible and disturbing that you won't sleep comfortably for an entire week.
must have some sort of magic telescope that can see into my head, because she managed to capture the terrorizing moment of fever dream exchange perfectly.
Destroy all seagulls.

In the space between dream and reality there was a seagull, big and mean, who's only purpose was to fill my aching body with dreams and images so intense that they would merge perfectly together with my crumbling sanity. They are not just birds, they are the messengers of a sickness from beyond our world that can't be cured; fever dreams.
But I once woke up with a sparrow in my room. It left a little turd on the floor before it flew into the mirror and broke it's neck. I still wonder what it was trying to tell me...

They also makes you sweat, transforming your bed to a swampland. It's like being invaded by Satan's daydreaming.
Is that how houses get possessed? Something from beyond our dreamworld follows us to our reality, but since the physical laws are different here they can't manifest themselves the same way they do in our dreams, and therefor have to live in the shadows of the house. But sometimes they manage to manifest themself for a little period of time, just so they can terrorize the living daylights out of curious goons.

Hmm, it is entirely possible - they get stuck and unable to go back into the world from whence they came, destined to slowly fade out over many years stuck in our reality but only able to weakly manifest themselves in spooky ways.
The fever dreams I have often have me picturing my body as some sort of large building structure, or large machine, being attacked and damaged by lots of smaller attacking machines or creatures. That is some weird shit.
