i really don't know what to say...
today i went to the vet with my kitty cat nico because he was salivating a lot lately and
a few days ago, he started to have brown slobber.. i thought it might be some
kind of salivary gland inflamation.
the vet told me it's a squamous cell carcinoma, which is really aggressive and because
it's right underneath his tongue and even spreading through his jaw bone, the
only option would be to surgically remove his whole lower jaw....
this is doable with humans, because a human can get used to liquid food, but
with a cat....
today i held him in my arms for the last time during the whole process...
he passed away at the age of almost 4 years.
i miss him so much....
i hope he finds a cosy little place with a scratchingpost all for himself on the other side...
good bye, my sweet little nico T_T

*Hugs* I'm so sorry to hear this. I just lost my cat yesterday.
Here's a poem a friend of mine sent to me, that I hope helps in some small way.
Rainbow Bridge (Death of a Pet)
There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth.
It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of all its beautiful colors.
Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows,
hills and valleys with lush green grass.
When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place.
There is always food and water and warm spring weather.
The old and frail animals are young again.
Those who were sick, hurt or in pain are made whole again.
There is only one thing missing,
they are not with their special person who loved them so much on earth.
So each day they run and play until the day comes
when one suddenly stops playing and looks up!
The nose twitches! The ears are up!
The eyes are staring and this one runs from the group!
You have been seen and when you and your special friend meet,
you take him in your arms and hug him.
He licks and kisses your face again and again -
and you look once more into the eyes of your best friend and trusting
pet.
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together never again to be apart.

thank you for sharing this poem.
makes me hopeful to someday maybe see him again.
and also i'm sad to hear about your loss too...
all i can say is that in these times, a lot of people are passing away completely alone
and in quarantine. i guess our pets have the rare luxury of not being alone during these
last moments...
thanks

my deepest condolences, a few months ago I also lost my kitten who was just as ill and as a very close relative told me, when my kitten died since he died of a disease on my legs, they told me that if they have anything pets who love us is to be by our side until the end and that if he died near the person he loves the most he would rest in peace since he will be with the person he loved the most until the end, I know that your kitten will continue to love you in this or the other side because for something we are what they want the most
