Here's another way to look at it: https://youtu.be/GtN3Qb3yvvM?t=96
"We all change... when you think about it. We're all different people, all through our lives. And that's okay, that's good, but you've got to keep moving, so long as you remember all the people that you used to be."

Alright mr Latex Apologist, I know that having your own personality shift in less than secconds sounds great to you but I think we can see him before becoming oreo that thats not what he would've wanted olther wise he: wouldnt be so hostile towards goo brain, wouldnt try to avoid the goo creature, wouldnt had an panic attack when he was covered in goo (speaking of which we can see the goo doing some tricks on his mind, I would say, unwanted) and lastly wouldnt attack the doctor when he said he infected him, oh sorry I ment "Cured" him.
I think the change was unwilling and thus morally not right, I mean thats just not right, no-one would love... Alright maybe you would but most would like to be them self and not have their personality corrupted and their old self preety much die and not know it or know it but not caring becose the goo made you think its fine even if it isnt.
Also "The way we experience time is relative to one's experience."
Fuck off with that kind of talk, no need to flex your writing skills on us plebs.

Seems like you've dismissed what I've said entirely. I'll repeat myself in a clearer manner, hopefully then you'll understand my point a little better.
First of all, "willingness".
Willingness is, to a point, is unrelated to what makes someone who they are. Now you'll probably say "well hold on, isn't being willing or not to do something in particular part of who I am? My character and personality?"
True and I am in complete agreement with you there; our memories and our personalities are an essential part of what makes us "us". That, combined with our consciousness.
Where we seem to be in disagreement, mostly, is when "change" comes about, as well as how it manifests itself.
How many times have you gotten you mind changed in your life? How many things you were first unwilling to do but had a change of heart eventually? Friends becoming enemies and vise-versa? Plenty, I'm sure.
But!
Here the difference is that the change was rather drastic and sudden. At least, to us. And that's where I'm trying to make a point.
"The way we experience time is relative to one's experience." I'll put this in a way you can understand. (No need to be rude.)
"The speed at which one, or many person see time go can be different depending on certain conditions."
Such conditions could include space-time relativity. For instance, someone orbiting a black hole; I'm sure you've seen the movie "interstellar", that's a perfect example of that... though, quite unrelated with this comic.
Alternatively, and perhaps much more related to this comic, would be enhanced thought-processing. Which basically means... that you think super fast.
With that kind of mind, entire discussions which would take hours or days could take only minutes or nano seconds. Entire books could be read in an instant. Arguments, discussions, character-building experiences could be had in the blink of an eye.
In less than a minute, (for us) one could be entirely different by the end of it. It would seem unnatural for outside observers and we'd think the person had their mind wiped or swapped... but what happened in reality is that this person went through and processed countless experiences that would take us (in our own time experience) years or more.
The change was seamless. They didn't forget, they didn't swap personality. They just had their mind changed in a way that seemed too fast for us to comprehend. But who knows how many thoughts and arguments were shared in their own experience?
Did that make sense? If you want a better example of this, I'd suggest you search "Kirisha" here on FA. They wrote a series named "change in perspective" which explains and demonstrates my point very accurately.
It's a Mass-Effect-themed story with Geths. (Because not only latex can transform things, shockers!)
Hope I made more sense this time around. If you want, leave me a note, we could discuss things further there.

Very well, Latex Apolagist, we will continue, now you made an grave mistake bringing in Change in Perspective, since I actualy did read the story all of it last time I read it, it is very well written and I enjoyed both the Art and the story for the most part, now you can guess which part of it I didn't like, but before we handle that lets start a bit earlier.
Are you realy saying that chaning mind is the same as changing mind?!
I mean if someone at first tought WW1 was started by germany but than learn "Oh wait thats not true" with either an trusted friend explaination or an quick google search, first it would take a bit of cogs turing in ones mind to process such information and seccond it would take more than 1 seccond, now before we handle time lets continue with this rabbit hole. Just becose this guy I just made up, lets call him Gianfranco changed his mind dosen't mean that his personality shifted too with that, there is an BIG difference between "Ah, I must've been mistaken" to "If Germany didn't cause ww- the Nazi party is the best and I wish Adolf Hitler would come back." but lets say for argument sake that that his how it works and changing one opinion or tought instantly changes evrything about the Charecter, you and I can agree it happend in an organic and non-invasive way, there was no Hypnotic ads on the wiki page, there was no experimental internet gas or his friend being an witch who used his powers to influence him into beliving that WW1 wasent started by Germany, can you see what I'm getting at? can you see what I'm putting down here? For me it would be even worse that Gianfranco is getting his charecter changed and he dosen't even realize it.
Also I'll add an small: (When friends becomes enemies, it may be very sudden usualy there are seeds for such event that take time to blossom and if you dig deep you can see that the reason why Gianfranco became enemies with his once best friend Clemente Affinito was becose of an core differance between the two that with time it became more and more there untill one day it blew up and both hated each olther from that day on. if we take the example but we say "Gianfranco was in the wrong allyway and got covered in [Medium] and now hates Clemente Affinito his once best friend becose the [Medium] made him belive so but hey chill he still remembers his past, it's simply less relevant now." Now that not just "Friends becoming enemies and vise-versa" Its Friends become unwilling enemies, yes UNwilling becose it wasen't something between the two that made them enemies but something else who forced one to be the enemy.)
Now with this "space-time relativity" thing that you keep bring up, thinking it may help your already flawed argument:
Yes!
"The speed at which one, or many person see time go can be different depending on certain conditions."
But you know whats this little condition is based on?
Its the same we use to mesuere time here on earth!
And last time I checked,
We are on Earth.
and guess what we used for the time lapse between Human Oreo and Goo Oreo,
an little tip: It aint Martian time.
While you are right, it may be one seccond for us and two years for him but it dosen't matter becose using Earth time to judge how much long it took, there is still a big differance between "I stopped being an Narcisit in two years by working out my flaws" and "I stopped being an narcisit in a seccond with this miracle goo but chill it took 2 years in my mind." I didn't touch the part with "What if the memories are just implanted to make it feel just to the human self and trick it into beliving its right" and its already falling appart.
Now lets be real and say that using earth time is meaning less, but you know what mesurement of time has meaing?
The life span, of an human being.
Ooooh yes, I'm going there!
If we judge the change using an normal human being life span, lets say, its still to fast.
Lets start the time with the Biological Age, lets say Gianfranco is 0 years old and you learn to speak in 5-10 years, nobody bats an eye.
Now lets say Gianfranco is 20 years old and has an phobia of Spiders, he drinks some bad water and in 1 seccond he had "many thoughts and arguments [that] were shared in their own experience[d time that of being 20 years]" and now wants to fuck an spider. While he may have percived 20 years of coming to the conclusion that Spiders are hot and fuckable, in human time, its way to fast for anyone with an Phobia of Spiders to now suddendly being an Arachnophile, it dosen't matter it took 20 mind years becose its all fake, in those 20 years of mind time with human time he didn't make any actual progress to over come this fear, You change dosen't happend with "many thoughts and arguments" but with expiriances, I bet you would've discovered your atraction to latex by something and sure as hell you werent in your mind place like sherlock homes thinking "Hmm, I wonder if I latex should make my pp hard." and than after 20 years of expirianced time pondering that question you say "Yes!" I bet something happend like "Why is my pp hard looking at latex" and with time and personal expiriance you came to the conclusion that "I like latex tf" and before you say it, no, expirianced personal expiriances do not count as they did not realy happend and are indeed fake, and this is what the expert call "Brain washing".
(Also I didn't see interstellar soo I don't realy know what you ment there)
By now I think you understood that I'm a very Humanistic kind of guy and I would lie if I said that these kind of stories don't intrigue me an fair bit.
Now we can speak how I got my Perspective Changed in "change in perspective" (you can't say that wasnt clever)
I honestly was a bit shocked by the TF scenes, it felt like watch-
Reading about people who didn't do nothing wrong, getting punished and forced to fight for a cause they do not belive.
I like how you cite the story becose it "explains and demonstrates my point very accurately" and if thats your point than my friend, I can't disagree more.
I mean the protest of the people, oh sorry Victims, getting converted made more sense that what the fuck the Geth were saying, one that stucks to mind is "Hey, I know you are doing for a noble cause but I think you should leave the choise to us if we want to fight for you and not you tell us what we want"
just to have the Geth be like "looks like there is an BUG time to fucking fix you! Bye bye fucker"
"Its not exacly a bug I just- nvm I understand now and you tottaly didn't brain wash me."
Even the fucking narcisistic doctor, even her is better than the geth.
I mean I remember when an converted geth (who I can't remember for the life of me who they were) when they find an photo and they remember when they were humens the fucking geth are like "DO I NEED TO DO A LIL' BUG FIXIN'? IS THAT HUMANITY I SEE? YOU BETTER NOT OR WE WILL STOP THOSE FEALING RIGHT OUT!"
Its plain and simple brainwashing, its totally fucked in my opion,
Still I wouldn't start an petition on the writer for being good at its job and making an amazing story but still if you are trying to tell me that its BRAIN WASHING is fine becose "Chill bruv, they remember their old life!" yes they can but at what cost?! No its not even an Cost becose they didn't pay anything, they've been fucking extorted their humanity. The biggest fucking irony is the geth are trying to be more human like but It may be just a lil' fealing but I think if evrytime somegeth gets that little bit human they feel the need to threat them with "Fixing", that aint it cheif, I think step 1# should be listen to the fucking humans if you try to be like them and not make them be like you and retroengineer humanity.
"But ALE, you are missing the point, the Geth-" Yeah Yeah, I know, I know. If we look with the Geth perspective for them it would make sense, to that I reply "Does that mean that if an Cannibal thinks its right to eat human meat, it means that evryone else should belive the same?". I don't like the way you look at conversions cheif, just say you like this kind of stuff on an certain level I like it too, with change I think it takes it a little to far for my taste, the difference between you, me and the Geth is that I belive this kind of conversation true potantial with with the themes of abhumanism just having to come to terms of what you are becoming, knowing its wrong but something telling you its right, an ever louder and alluring voice, telling you that its the olthers who are wrong to, joing them. Maybe even the aftermath of such happening how would an Converted Charecter react to fragments of its old self:
for the Geth, they would fear and percived as an danger such happening, becose they fear what they are trying to achive, Humanity.
For me it could be moment of clarity and maybe of realization, an flame of hope, of turing back just to have it snuffed out by the realization of the extend of the predicament.
For you... who knows but from what I can tell, an moment of justification that of making the right move, becose the alternative, would be too horrible of an realization to even attept to think about.
And with that I rest my case, in short:
Don't fucking justify what makes your pp hard,
I have a lot of Empathy for well written words on an Screen,
If its influenced by something, it just aint right cheif.
Change in Perspective, is a great story, that I hate reading and the mention of it gives me vietnam flashbacks.
Alright I think this arguments is full of holes but it has less holes than yours soo that makes it better, thus, I am right.
(also don't tell me its not only latex that can trasform like you didn't like it becose the transformation happend with another medium that wasen't latex.
you know it, I know it and my pp knows it that: if it barks its an Dog and if its shiny and liquid, its latex, it realy dosen't matter if it changes into metal after covering the victim, its still latex tantecles, expecialy in the late episodes.)
Are you realy saying that chaning mind is the same as changing mind?!

Your "engrish" is as bad as from the game "Changed" itself. I'm not going to lie, that was a painful read.
Okay so... to your whole "World War" argument. Honestly you could've just reduced to "organically-changed =/= change of mind through words and diplomacy".
It is a fair point. Though, in this case, we don't know how the organic change occurred. Let alone what happened in his head specifically. (Unless we are given clarification by the author) It *is* science fiction, after all. We can speculate... and most importantly, we aren't bound by limited, real-life science. We don't know if his mind was erased here and there or tempered with directly or if the process was more of a sped up experience.
That, or maybe his memories remained intact but was given added context and different perspectives.
Maybe nothing was cut out, but only added?
About space-time relativity:
Keeping it short, someone orbiting a blackhole would have his clock slowed down due to gravity. In 20 minutes, 10 years could go by back home on earth.
Though, as I said, this is not in anyway way, shape or form, related to the story here. It was just an example.
How we -experience- time, however, is another beast altogether. I will clarify one last time.
It's been proven that certain athletes sometimes experience time in a slower fashion due to adrenaline rushes and sheer concentration. In a nutshell it make things go in "slow motion" because the brain is hyper-active. Time itself isn't affected. But the way it is -perceived- is. It's different.
This is something we often see in worlds of fiction. The Flash from DC universe. Quick Silver. Peter Parker vs Flash, the Slo-Mo drug in Judge Dredd, many video games, etc.
And this story is a work of fiction. Latex creatures aren't real. None of it is. So why would a concept like this be so unreasonable?
I can't prove that's what happened, but equally you can't prove it wasn't either.
Your stand on being humanistic in nature is yours to have and cherish. I will not object to it. But this whole discussion isn't about you or me. It's not even about morals. So I'm not going there.
The rest of your written essay is very ad hominem and personal in nature. I won't be going there either.
I believe I already made my point. At this point I believe this discussion won't be bearing any fruits.
At least for now.
If you want, we could have this over Discord instead and speak in a more direct/comprehensive and hopefully constructive manner. Send me a note and I'll give you my username.
Otherwise, I suggest we keep this discussion going via notes. I believe we've taken enough space in the comment section.

Well, there ARE a couple of things you need to consider about this story:
1. This is a Changed TF story. Someone's not gonna be human anymore. Probably no one.
2. BECAUSE this a Changed TF story, that person's likely gonna stop being themselves. Probably goes against the Doctor's quotes but it's been established in the game throughout some notes and bad endings that Transfur involves mental degradation, mental shift, or mental overwrite.
When you hop into a Changed story, you gotta prepare yourself to see this sort of shit. The story at least made it easier to bear for a couple of reasons:
1. Changed or not, the guy was a dead man walking. It's been established 7 pages in that he was infected and wasn't gonna survive. The story at least gave him a painless way out and gave us a new character in return.
2. Squidoggo was gonna replace the humans the same way and had the intelligence to successfully do so. At least the guy took down a dangerous being as his final act.
3. The human was pretty unlikable anyways. That was likely the point. It didn't look like he was even meant to survive the story so instead of having the viewer attach themselves to the guy, the writer made sure to make it so that when he goes, nothing of value would be lost.
If you're still against this sort of thing then do what I do to thing I don't like (I HAVE seen a story here that hit me as bad as this hit you): Click back, walk away, avoid the story.

The story is fine there is no probrem with that with me, I mean it was obvious he would be goner, the tf tag was an death sentance but I realy don't have a problem with that, I mean I'm not a fan of this kind of tf's but to each his own, I have a problem who feel the need to justify why its not that bad. Like just say this kind of stuff turn you on, there is no need to invent an bullshit reason why people who are mildy saddend and/or annoyed should'nt feel that, last I checked its preety normal for people to feel empathy even for such an charecter.
What I don't get is why Tyler isn't torn up at all about Oreo becoming a latex. Given Oreo originally disliked him, not caring hust seems to confirm what he originally thought about latexes. I would have expected Tyler to apologize profusely and try to make it up to him somehow. If he did it woukd be reason for them to be friends, but him not doing so just seems like another reason fir Oreo to be salty.
It just make him seem rather bad that he never seems concerned about the human getting tf'd at all if he was trying to protect him.
Also this all seems a vit darker than what you normally do, with how this seems to be heading towards a Bad End. Human suffered Ego Death, goo-brain proves the human right about latexes being bad, ect.

In my opinion as long as the change in consciousness was continuous and there was no discontinuous jumps then it's the same person no matter how different they may act. it's basically the fact that people can change and we still consider them the same people just that this was hyper sped up.
