At any rate, the reference photo is beautiful. I wasn't going to draw horses tonight. In fact, I wasn't going to draw tonight at all, but who wants to do studying anyway... This is a quick(ish) drawing of a Fjord pony, since it's been a while since I did a horse on black paper. That's my excuse anyway. 
clyderyde kindly provided the reference photo.
As ever, my scanner hates me. The orignal is miles better, although I'm not sure why one would measure quality as distance. In any case, I had couple of heureka moments while drawing this, which makes it all worthwhile. Ish.
