Aegis is a semi sentient AI boarded onto a single arm shield. It's functions are to sync with most company hybrid systems and detect targets via radar, sonar, Infrared, ultraviolet, and various radiation signature detecting units. It also holds it's own as a shield with its high density BD/inconel Alloy build, a material that stands well, if not better, than it's adamantium counterparts. Meaning thus not only physical damage, but thermal damage is negated as well.
When needed the shield can act on its own to fly around it's assignment for hands off protection, scout a set arena, oversee a battle ground, or attack opponents while the hybrid fights. It's plasma cutting wings giving the appearance of a feisty insect. It's plasma and electromagnetic emitters also allow it to negate energy based attacks altogether even when not directly attached to its host.
