This is one of those drawings I wanted to do to represent my deep thoughts, and no visual better to do it in than Marcelo Monreal. To those who may not know, Marcelo Monreal is an artist who specializes in "Surreal Portraits" known as "Faces (UN)bonded" which he manipulates the faces of contemporary icons and fashion models and filling them in with flowers. Speaking of which, Shawn Mendes' 2018 album features an example of Monreal's work.
Now when it came to featuring myself in this form of art, I wanted the flowers to be a representation of my inner thoughts and emotions. you'll notice in the picture than most of the flowers are wilted and splattered with blood, this perfectly represents my struggles with depression, suicidal thoughts and history of Self-Harm. Another thing you'll notice is some of the leaves are on fire; which represents my struggles with Self-Worth and Existential Crisis in that I'm still hanging on, even if it is by a thread.
