'Nother older piece. I played DnD for a while in college and this was one of my characters, a snooty, elfan black mage. She had a ridiculous INT score thanks to a really nice dice roll for her basic stats and some excellent equipment we obtained early in our campaign. She was a bit of a pyro and elitist, having little regard for warrior-types. At the outset she didn't consider them terribly useful other than as meat shields, but through the battles and adventures, she came to respect them more. She had a hawk familiar that I don't recall the name of.
