Really? I can't see the join. Hmm that coyote fellow could so easily hurl that rock a the other one.

Was the rock just lying on the ground and you drew the character on the left around it, so it appears to be held in the air, or is it edited in? It's totally looking like classic cel artwork.
I really, really like the way you made the eye contact between these two. Also, it's cute that the guy on the right is trying to cheer his buddy desperately up (looks for me that way).

It also kinda reminds me of a show where there was rl footage like in a documentary about animals and nature, but sometimes characters like these would show up, for remarks and some "interaction".

The rock he's holding was made from one of the rocks that was on the pile of rocks. Copied, moved, and tweeked slightly.

Ah, I was suspecting the grey one in the middle on the right there, they had the same colour and pattern. But the idea of having that rock fix and draw around it for basically an optical illusion seemed pretty cool.
The longer I look at it, the more I like these two.
