A long time ago a king
Saw his lands as what he could wring
There was great bounty
From the coast to the valley
But famine and hunger he did bring
Since he ascended to prominence
Tribute from every providence
Would be asked for by day
And carted away
And no one would question his dominance
By morning tributes were feasts
Fresh fruit, heady wine, and rare beasts
Would be devoured by dusk
Leaving nothing but husks
With not even a scrap at least
Each day, for more he'd thirst
And eat 'til he was ready to burst
But one day he stopped
When he actually popped
Marking the end of Porkanus the First
And with the tyrant out of the way
A curse was made that day
"Don't you follow in his wake
And give more than you take
Or you'll be met with certain dismay"
But the cycle was hard to defeat
Because history always repeats
And those rulers of Vire
Believing themselves to be higher
Would find themselves on cloven feet
For those taking well over the mean
The traits of a pig would become seen
A floppy ear there
A curly tail somewhere
Or a snout whos smell is quite keen
So years later and a few years more
A king who no-one adored
Would take peasant's lunch
And glut far too much
Be forever cursed to the form of a boar
