This is so fantastic looking! I like that they may look stylized, but still definitely look like the Pokemon. A lot of times, I see them drawn 'realistically' only for people to draw like... a still-life of a normal earth animal just colored differently. skaljdslak those Swinubs I want them all

I'm really glad you like it, and yeah, I know what you mean. I was worried that Donphan was looking a little too elephant-like, but I think he turned out alright. I like looking at pokemon card art, and they have to stylize but not overstylize, so it's a lot of great inspiration. If you're ever bored and wanna have a look-see, you should check out Kawayoo and TOKIYA. They're by far my favourites. *v*

In video games, 3d art is nice.
On cards, I think it's cheap.
I'd be willing to bet some of them were just scraps left over from games and stuff.

buidling a 3D image is a lot of work ._. first of all, you need to start it by sketching (!) what you want to make, and then you don't just trace the lines and kill the sketch, you have to rebuild it in a totally different medium

3D design class was not fun let me tell you D:

I know it's hard work, but recycling already made 3d graphics isn't, and some of it looks recycled, is what I think.

I'll agree with someone up there and say that I like how you stylize pokemon so they're still Pokemon, but pokemon that feel like they could be real without just being animals with patterns painted on.
