Rewind to the mid 2000's. Myspace was still the number one website, I used AIM, MSN Messenger and IRC to talk to my furry friends. We hung out on PHPBB boards when we were meeting up, or just posting old furry art.
When I was in high school, I was in a band called CableTV. Upon digging through my very old files, I managed to find a few of our songs from back then. I was really nervous to post this anywhere and I almost didn't until
garnetto said I should.
The inspiration for the lyrics came from the weirdness of meeting people on the internet. I was the weird one in the group. I always spoke about these weird furry people I was interested in meeting or dating. My friends in school used to playfully tease me about it. They weren't innocent either, though haha. I think this was just all fun, and came in a time when social media was really starting to kick off.
Originally, the song was called "Ethernet".
The entire song was recorded in our band room class after school ended.
I lost contact with all of the other band members a long time ago. I don't even remember some of their names at this point. I am sure I could find them on facebook if I wanted to, see what they are up to these days... It would be loads of fun to go back to my hometown and meet them all again. I'm sure they're onto bigger and better things now though, haha.
Well, as soon as I listened to this song again, I smiled really big. I miss those times, back home in Las Vegas. I miss being able to play the drums and the horns like I used to! I should have kept doing music stuff, it truly made me happy. I am rambling now, but I posted this for myself. It's a small bit of what I have left from this time in my life.
Enjoy.

Lyrics:
In all my name is unimportant.
You don't know me anyhow.
And I have something for you to promise.
Yeah I have something for you to vow.
When will you meet me on the internet?
Oh, I'm not feeling close and I just, want to connect
When will you meet me on the internet?
Oh, I just got some flaws that I, need to correct
And I will meet you sometime soon,
When that is, I'm not quite certain.
Sadly this may be my doom,
Assuming that you'd pull the curtain.
When will you meet me on that internet?
Oh, I'm not feeling close and I just, want to connect!
When will you meet me on the internet?
Oh, I just got some flaws that I, need to correct.
Ooooooohhhh the internet, the internet ooooohhhhh
The internet, the internet ooooohhhhh
The internet, the internet ooooooohhhhhh
The internet, the internet!
Born on the internet, oh where I met my wife
Born on the internet, yeah where I keep that separate life
Born on the internet, oh where I met my wife
Born on the internet, oh where I keep my separate life
Born on the internet, oh where I met my wife
Born on the internet, oh where I keep my separate life
Born on the internet, oh where I met my wife
Born on the internet, oh where I keep my separate life
Born on the internet
Born on the internet
Born on the internet
Born on the internet
Born on the internet
Born on the internet
Born on the internet
Born on the internet
