Early January I had a visit from my good friends  muddyness and  jaeh and one of the night there inspired this adorable sketch drawn by the latter.

The story behind it is pretty cute. I got Muddy an arcade style fightstick for Soul Calibur 6. He'd never used one extensively before so we figured one evening to break it in a bit. He and I are kind of old hat at the series but far from experts. Bottom line is we knew what we were doing on the most basic level. For a good chunk of the night I was laying a pretty mighty smackdown which just drove him to keep trying harder and harder. To his credit, this is exactly the right mentality to have and after giving him some tips on new mechanics and pointing out some of his worst habits, he very quickly started closing the gap! It was a good night. Fighting games online are fine but there's no replacing the feeling of playing with a friend right there with you either at home or in the arcade.

For the record, he mains Nightmare. I main Voldo. Our sonas should cosplay some time. X3
