As it seems that this quarantine may last longer than I originally anticipated, I made some adjustments to my home setup to prepare for the long hours I will be spending working at it in order to make things more ergonomic and comfortable. Part of this, is that I fabricated a sketchboard of sorts to hold my iPad, to give me a larger surface to rest my hand/arm around the iPad while drawing on it for long hours. Not pictured is my new gaming computer chair, to keep my ass and back comfy!

I do pretty much everything right on the iPad Pro (the Macbook is just so that I can stream it on Picarto, and so I can watch some shows/movies while I work).
I use the iPad Pro with Procreate, and Clip Studio Paint to sketch, ink, and color my work. I am able to draw and color right on the screen, the way you would on a piece of paper. I hope this helps.

Sadly this old 21ux really shows its age. It still works well enough, but the screen quality, color, and brightness all leave a lot to be desired. That combined with the large gap between the glass surface and the screen makes parallax a little more than I like at this point, after being spoiled by the precision of the Apple Pencil and iPad Pro. But the Cintiq works well enough to watch some movies on!
I personally don’t like regular tablets. There is too much disconnect between my drawing hand and looking at a monitor. I rely on my hand eye coordination when drawing so it is either a pen display type tablet (like the Cintiq or iPad) or paper and pencil. However, other people have no problem using standard tablets after some practice. It is all a personal preference.
🔥🤘 Ohhhh Yeh! Loving your Workspace man!! Truly dig that neat mobile/anchored setup for the ipadpro, that extra space on the sides really makes a difference, and that slick minimal desk with all on Mac running the setup, I was a mac user for a long time too! and---- hold up ---- that´s the Cinitq 21 UX, oh man the good old memories! used to have one, and they are rock solid! it has a special place in my heart, I´m glad you´re still keeping yours man! I know you mentioned an upgrade , althou that 21 UX really makes a formidable drafting tool!
Thanks Jeso! It’s not too crazy, I try to keep a fairly clean set up if i can. Haha yep thats my trusty old Cintiq 21ux, sadly she is really starting to show her age. The biggest issues being the parallax when drawing, and the fact that the screen technology itself is very old now, so the colors and brightness leave a lot to be desired. It still functions as it always has, but it’s tough to go back after being used to the precision of the Apple Pencil and the gorgeous display of the iPad Pro.
The little drafting table thing I made for the iPad definitely makes it feel much larger. I can really use the entire screen for drawing now, all the way to the edges, while still giving my arms and hands plenty of space to rest on something. It’s pretty great and was just mad with stuff I had lying around the house!
