Ein Lied für den Gefangenen
This is a little birthday gift for
SteinWill who was my very first watcher here on FA. This year it will be 7 years since I joined this community. Time sure flies...
The idea and inspiration for this pic was a song I found on youtube, the "Urpney Warsong" from the soundtrack of the early 90s UK cartoon show "The Dreamstone". So I had this idea that Stein´s rebels would be jolly again and try to entertain one of their captives who seams to be in bad spirits, so they try to cheer him up by singing a song for him, a military song at least.

Great pic as always man XD
Dreamstone was one of my favourite cartoons when I was a kid (I actually drew a for it picture waaaaaaaaaay back now)...
Interesting bit of trivia about that song though, the three singers were Black Sabbath front man Ozzy Ozbourn, former Heavyweight Boxer Frank Bruno & Scottish Comedian Billy Connolly.

Thank you very much *bows*
Dreamstone is still one of my favorite cartoons.
I only knew that Ozzy Osbourne was one of the singers for this song, but the others I didn´t know at all^^. The german version of the song was very silly in terms of lyrics and it was a short version too

With the rebels looking so jolly I can imagine that they're getting very enthusiastic with their singing and with the captive being a lion with their sensitive hearing he's probably just grumpy with them being so close to him and it's too loud. I'm sure if they'd stood back a little way and sang to him then he might have appreciated it or maybe he'd have just been grumpy anyway.
Perhaps they could find another way to cheer him up such as when the fox has finished his knitting there might be a woolly hat or scarf for the lion to wear and look adorable in.
It's a good choice of song as well from a very fondly remembered cartoon, though I think I recall you made a Dreamstone related artwork a while back, I think with Zordrak if I remember right.

He was a proud lion, perhaps feeling a sense of shame at having been captured, though the rebels were not at all unkind and would treat him nicely. Even if he was growling and giving surly looks, they sought to perhaps lift his spirits with a rousing rendition of a military song, well it was one remembered from fond memories of a childhood cartoon. Sung rather enthusiastically and tunefully, though it just seemed to make the lion grumble all the more. Perhaps he would be more pleased with the rather cute hat, or maybe scarf that Stein was knitting.
The lion having been suffering a migraine these last few hours would rather have preferred some aspirin. He was however a proud soldier who would not beg or show weakness in front of his captors.
