Senzam is surveying his fiery realm in his unicorn shape. What can I say, I fancied drawing my fire demon character again. This is the first time I've experiment property with real water colour paper, and it took a huge amount of courage. I was constantly convinced that I had ruined the entire picture, but when the colours dried, it looked good again. I've been working on this for about two weeks now. There has been much layering and cursing going on. I did have a huge problem with my masking fluid though, because it broke the top layer of the paper when I peeled it off. Hence the painting doing's look great in real life. If anyone has any idea what I might have done wrong, I would really appreciate advice. But at least I've finally found something that my scanner really likes, as the scan is amazing. Happy days.

Definitely! I was thinking by the way, are you still planning on getting Buddy a pet passport? Cos if you are, it would be really nice at some point (next summer at the very earliest) to rent a house in France for a week or so together and hang out there with the dogs and husbands etc?
Some human sketches, which they ended up not using. Which is slightly boring, as I spent about 3 hours on them instead of painting a sad looking Senzam. But I did draw an amusing manga style Xena the Warrior Princess, which took about 5 minutes. ^_^
By the way, your birthday presents arrived today! I'm very pleased with them and sorely tempted to keep them myself! *is all mysterious*

Very nice. Lovely colors. Enjoy your explorations, watercolor is such a fun medium.
As for the liquid frisket, is it rather old? That is when I have had problems with it. Also if you leave it on for longer than a week or so... I try and remove it within a couple days.

Thanks a lot! ^_^
I don't think my masking fluid is that old, I bought it from an art shop about two months ago. I have read sufficient warnings about not leaving it on the paper for too long, which is why I did the backgrounds as soon as the fluid was dry and then immediately removed it. So it was on the paper an hour max. Which is part of the reason why I cannot understand why it did so much damage to the paper. The only thing I did differently from earlier uses of the fluid (aside from switching to watercolour paper that is) was that I put some soap to the brush I used to spread the masking fluid, which was recommended to make it easier to clean the brush afterwards. But yeah, I'm really puzzled by my paper problems.
