This assignment was to draw an illustration based on the quote 'This presence, always... behind'. At first I wanted to draw a scary monster, lurking in the shadows, or in the corner of an eye, but that was quite obvious. I like when you have pairs in cartoons where there are characters who contradict each other, so I thought that it would be more interesting if there was this girl, who has a monster following her, but she's not scared of him, she's more annoyed. And this monster is not actually very scary, more like a guardian to the mischievous girl.
I definitely want to revisit it one day, because I like this pair of characters.
