Starponys: Friends with Unicorn Syndrome
Nightlight is a very powerful unicorn — yet she has special needs. She has Unicorn Syndrome, a condition similar to Asperger’s Syndrome. Nightlight performs great at math, science, and casting “spells”. But she’s had a hard time understanding why anyone needs friends.
White Night is Nightlight's big brother. He is one of few who know how to connect with her. White Night tells his sister that the world was created for friendship. He says that friendship is the meaning of life — starting with loving and trusting our Creator.
As one with Unicorn Syndrome, Nightlight has had a much harder time learning social skills. She’s had a much harder time appreciating why social skills matter. Moreover, Nightlight has had some serious anger problems. Some of the strangest things can strike fear in her or cause her to melt down.
Nightlight can literally explode in anger. She may explode when she gets terrified. White Night has been like a guardian angel for his sister. When she gets out of control, he can contain the damage. Nightlight has often been a nightmare to raise. But somehow, she’s about to become her brother’s dream come true!
As Nightlight learns how to bond with others, she learns that social skills are not nearly as natural as they’re cracked up to be. She finds that social skills are not something people are born with after all. They are not learned in a vacuum — they are learned from interacting with other people. Social skills are a science, and everyone must study them as such.
White Night may not care about college. But he is highly versed in the art and science of friendly relationships. Back when he was little, he managed to befriend Princess Skysparkle — the main ruler of the Starpony Kingdom.
Skysparkle has practically adopted Nightlight and White Night as her own. She is training both of them to be rulers someday. Skysparkle is a mother who wants to be our best friend. She wants her godchildren to be great big brothers and sisters for their people.
With the right attitude, Nightlight finds that Unicorn Syndrome does not have to be her limiting factor. Her brother was born with exceptional emotional intelligence. But she can build her own with practice. Her talents in academics can be easily applied to the science and art of friendship.
With these advantages, Unicorn Syndrome does not have to be a handicap. Instead — it can be a different vantage point for understanding the world of friendship!

Visual Description of White Night:
White Night is a white unicorn with a build that balances the cute and delicate with the big and strong. He has wavy hair that straddles the line between wild-looking and well-combed. His hair descends toward the bottom of the neck.
White Night has bright blue eyes and sapphire-colored hooves. His hair is bright cyan-blue with a lightish golden stripe and a darker bluish stripe. He is nearly a head taller than his little sister (Nightlight).
The mark on White Night's flank is the following:
His mark is a multicolor shield with a tall eight-point star. Three hearts hover above the shield. The eight-point star is made of two perpendicular crosses -- a tall one and a square one. The shape of the shield resembles the American Interstate shield (vaguely resembling a cursive lowercase "v" with a curvy three-point crown).
The shield has three colors -- in stripes that slant down from right to left (paralleling the upper right and lower left points of the star). From top to bottom, the colors are bright bluish cyan, yellowish cream, and brightish lightish golden orange. The tall eight-point star is a reddish hot pink. The three hearts are a deep bright purple.

Visual Description of Nightlight:
Nightlight is a lightish purplish pink unicorn with bright purplish pink hooves. She has darkish pinkish magenta hair with a dark stripe and a golden yellow stripe.
Nightlight's hair is straight, but it is fairly messy. It extends near the tops of her forelegs. She wears dark violet glasses with half-circle frames. She has darkish purplish violet eyes.
The mark on Nightlight's flank is the following:
A tall eight-point star that stands for the North Star; beside it are seven five-point stars that make the Big Dipper. The tall eight-point star is a bright reddish hot pink. The eight-point star is made of two perpendicular crosses -- a tall one and a square one. To the upper right half is a triangle of light golden yellow hearts. The seven stars of the Big Dipper are white.

This poster was certainly a great advertisement for pitching the concept of the Starponys series. Night Light, White Knight, and Princess Sky Sparkle seem to be our real starting point in the tale and showcasing their respective characteristics would lead into having questions asked of how it should start and where it would go from here to allow Night Light to begin her journey towards better understanding herself and others.
Social skills are certainly a difficult thing to develop. Most come from whatever most have done for years-and-years in a given region. There are some that can be seen as universal but not 100% so. There are also those who, by no fault of their own, have no idea, nor perceived reason, to act certain ways in specific situations.
This series could do well in showing how and why 'social standards' are not as 'normal' as they are made out to be. Perhaps Night Light will question greetings, gestures, and other non-verbal interactions to see just why they are done? It could be quite enlightening as, for most, non-verbal communication is 'just what you do'.
