Sorry for the late comment.
The imperfections of biology, shown through the sketched cracked lines and the random bone shaping, yet the symmetrical shaping of a fox (fennec) skull.
I do not know much about Warhammer 40k, but I do know that it's a game, at least, of similar format to those, Total War games (Which, isn't Warhammer 40k a part of their franchise? )? (Where you command an army on a 3-dimensional landscape, fighting an opposing force, usually AI)
I can't tell if that camera lens is truly robotics or an eye, it looks more like an eye, which is quite a nice touch.
Although, I do wonder. Is that slightly leveled-off skull area to the right of the picture, metal or shaping of the robotics, or actual skull? It seems quite perfectly rounded compared to the other side.
It's probably is mentioned in the game's lore, on how this all works, but I wonder, does the skull walk with these tubing, or is it connected to something much bigger?

Warhammer is owned by Games Workshop, and started as a tabletop wargame but has a bunch of video games, books, and whatnot based off it. However "Servo skulls" generally are made from human skulls, I wouldn't doubt they wouldn't utilize other skulls in the same fashion. The setting is very grim-dark there are no "good guys" and the lore is deep.
