Celene and Oda had a rough start to their relationship. Initially they didn't get along at all, to the point that Celene would rudely brush him off and her harsh wording seemed out of character compared to her normally soft demeanor.
It wasn't until later, that after Oda had done some changing on his own after the two ceased traveling together that Celene saw a new side to him. Since then the two have become closer in terms of respect and friendship.
