This is an extension of TAU, a robotic form capable of going beyond just the current system. There can be more practical ways when it comes to interstellar exploration, however, TAU has made it his set goal to always reside on his homeworld so he simply created an extension, a copy of sorts to explore beyond his home system.
His main goal is to observe other societies, their built structures, and more. He has actually little interest in creatures themselves unless they were/are part of his world. His form allows him to fit in with most civilizations as a visitor and not an alien being.
((This is the reference for the cosplay I will be working on, I will be uploading WIPs of said cosplay from time to time. Expect these to be under "Scraps" and not my gallery. I don't wish to be seen as a cosplayer (Nothing bad about that, just don't want my gallery for normal art to be cramped with cosplay images aka IRL images).
