Grim and his family have served closely to the Yggdrasill family for ages. Though not really happy with the drama that lead to their connection to the family. (The next in line ran off and eloped with someone outside of their circle). With their induction into the workings of the Yggdrasill family, they were gifted a golden sword that reshapes itself to better reflect its user. With the current holder of the Grimoire at the time inscribing it with powerful magic, it became the symbol of the Laevantein. Skip forward a few generations. Grim never really approved or felt comfortable with the way the elders of the Yggdrasill seemed to isolate the newest Grimoire Bearer, Taro. When Taro made his escape from his own family, Grim actually approved of it. He hated seeing how they treated Taro like a cash cow, making him work for them to gain more money and favors from government officals and other people of power. When the Laevantien were tasked to hunt down and find Taro. They needed their golden goose back. Grim really didnt try very hard to locate Taro. He had hoped he would have run far away....sadly that was not to pass. Grim found Taro on accident! but find him he did! After covertly helping Taro get away from a group of mercs trying to once more steal Taro back to his family home, he met with Taro, who was understandably hesitant that a Laevantein was talking to him. Yet Taro gave him a chance, and together they agreed that both families where too corrupted to continue they way they were. So Grim took the task of becoming Taro's eyes and ears in places he couldn't really reach personally! Though he is still wary of Grim, Taro has slowly come to trust Grim. Even helping fix some issues with his family Sword! Grim's eyes are a sensative topic as well...but thats another story!
