Much of my life, I have been surrounded by cats of all sorts. Mom fed as many as thirteen at any given time, most being the neighborhood cats. She and Pop would go around about this as part of their "Love-Hate Play" that married couples go through. She would "pay" for the food, Pop would get the food, and I would ... as an innocent bystander ... have to get the food out of the bed of his truck. I loved them all, truth be told. Often, I would ask to feed them ... Pop would make his joke about "Cooking Kitty Burgers!" and Mom would get upset ... but I would "separate" the two and go out there and play with the cats. Because I fed and petted them, they loved me. A friend of mine used to tease me about being a Kitty Deity since I was always surrounded by cats when home. I corrected him by say, "Bast is the Cat Goddess." He would smirk like Pop did and just walk off, allowing me the time to spent alone with the cats.

I think he has the right idea...
