Okay let's start with the good:

β’ i love all the details you added from the original screenshot.

β’ those flowers
β’ that luscious head dress...

There is only one detail here that clashes with everything else and which might not have been what you were going for, but i truly hope you were aiming straight for it:
β’ the thousand yard stare which is a combination of "wide eyes" plus "extreme lighting of the face alone"
I don't know if you were going for "she was just shocked from a revelation", but if you were going for it... kudos. I want to buy a plane ticket to come and shake your hand.
That nails if far better than most renditions i see normally, and i am awe-struck.

I always thought she was shocked from receiving a flower; pleasantly surprised from the notion. So I was going for that in a sense. In the original screenshot her iris are well below her lid to emphasize the surprised but welcoming look on her face.
I could be remembering that scene wrong, though. That was years ago. As far as shading goes, I don't see any intense or odd contrast on her face. The headdress cast a small shadow on her forehead/eyes and her muzzle has a shadow too cause it sticks out.

Eugh, please don't make that sliced eyelid look the norm... with the white of the eye bleeding into the lid section. Eyes are wrapped in flesh unless you slice the lids up, then, yes, the white of the eye would possibly show like this.

How was I not being constructive while literally, as in, I used literal letters, describing how the white of the eye would be visible like that?
I couldn't have been MORE constructive than that. OUtside of magic or whatever, you literally can only see the sclera 'blending' into the lidline like that if you slice up the lid skin.

P.S.:
"skin fang" is also a manga/anime style, but that one is highly cancerous. You know, skin fang? Where people have started to chicken out on drawing actual canines on their humanoid characters and instead just pull down the flesh of the lip into a cone like tumorous growth to suggest a fang anyway?
That's disgusting and a step backward in anime/manga stylishness. Yuck.

You're only being critical. Not constructive. Your attitude is rude and ignorant. If you'd adjust your tone a little you might get better responses.
If you don't like a certain style that doesn't mean it's bad or disgusting. And to say so is narrow-minded. Next time, if you think what someone's created is "gross" maybe keep those thoughts to yourself? Especially on something subjective.
